T. Hanrahan, Supervisor of Traffic and Parking Services provided a presentation regarding Smart Portable Variable Message Boards. 

Mr. Hanrahan discussed slides concerning the following topics:

·	The pros and cons of the current technology the City is using for message boards;
·	A description of the Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS);
·	The benefits associated with using the ATIS En-Route roadside devices;
·	How the Bluetooth Enabled Variable Message Boards receive and gather data;  
·	A map illustrating the placement of the Bluetooth Enabled Variable Message Boards along Mapleview Drive; 
·	Pictures illustrating potential messages for the proposed Mapleview signs; and
·	The value added benefits for the message boards including future scalability, systems that are interchangeable with most displays, web-based information, constant collection of data of real time events, leveraging of existing inventory and event or emergency messaging.
