The Committee discussed energy saving tips and potential ideas to educate the community of the City of Barrie’s energy and environmental initiatives in place.

S. Lamantia, Senior Communications Advisor advised the Committee of a Media Release dated December 30, 2016 entitled “Banner Year for Energy Management at City”.  Mr. Lamantia noted that the media release recognized the City of Barrie’s efforts in reducing energy for 2016, and advised the community of the City’s energy and cost reduction initiatives, and associated awards won by the City.  

Mr. Lamantia noted that he is in contact with the staff in the Corporate Facilities Department and will be updating the City of Barrie’s website to highlight the City’s energy and environmental initiatives in place.

The Committee discussed potential topics for one minute videos on energy saving tips and the City of Barrie’s energy and environmental initiatives in place.
