Mayor Lehman detailed the history associated with the use of the gazebo and the need to restore it. He discussed the request to the community to assist with the cost of the restoration. Mayor Lehman indicated that that the Kiwanis Club of Barrie and former Mayor Willard Kinizie stepped forward with contributions towards the restoration. Mayor Lehman and Councillor Romita presented the Kiwanis Club and Karen Kinzie with photographs of the Sam Cancilla Park Gazebo in recognition of their contributions. Mr. Robert Johnston, President of the Kiwanis Club of Barrie thanked City Council for the recognition.
