GABRIEL OF THE ARCHANGEL CATHOLIC SCHOOL Mayor Lehman introduced Sonja Plunkett and Denise Monkman and recognized their actions associated with saving a life of a young student while working at St. Gabriel of the Archangel Catholic School. Mayor Lehman described the events that took place on November 27th, 2017. He highlighted that a young student at the school began to choke on an item of food from his lunch that caused him to start choking and being unable to breathe. Mayor Lehman commented that the quick response and knowledge of life saving procedures by Denise and Sonja, that they were able to initiate the appropriate lifesaving measures. As a result the student was then able to start coughing as the piece of food became dislodged, allowing him to once again breathe. Mayor Lehman thanked Denise and Sonja for their bravery and their quick thinking that resulted in saving the young student’s life and presented them each with a Certificate and an Award of Merit for their liWed, 22 Feb 2023 19:46:42 GMT
