Title: RECOGNITION OF THE 2016 SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS KETTLE CAMPAIGN. Major Doug Lewis of the Salvation Army, Barrie Bayside Mission thanked members of City Council for the opportunity to address Council concerning the Christmas Kettle Campaign and discuss the services that the Salvation Army provides. Major Lewis thanked the residents of the City of Barrie for their generosity and extended his appreciation to those who volunteer at the various programs offered by the Salvation Army. He provided details of the Kettle Campaign advising that there are 23 kettles throughout the City of Barrie and outlined funds raised in 2015 and to date in 2016. Major Lewis discussed some of the personal challenges experienced by those who use the Salvation Army Services and the ways that the Salvation currently assists families in need including the new Redwood Park Family Transition Project.
