PRESENTATION BY RUDY WESTERNENG - ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS
R. Westerneng and S. Jones from sPark Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions provided the Committee with a presentation concerning Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.
Mr. Westerneng discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• His background and experiences;
• The history of electric cars and charging stations;
• Illustrations of vintage cars and charging stations;
• A chart detailing the comparison of global annual sales of light-duty plug-in electric vehicles from 2011 - 2015;
• A chart detailing the vehicles sold per year and the projected percentage of new car sales from 2015 - 2040;
• Illustrations of cultural transitioning and perception associated with charging stations;
• A map and illustration associated with municipal considerations of charging stations; and
• The emerging challenges related to charging stations.
In closing Mr. Westerneng and Mr. Jones provided illustrations introducing the future of electric vehicle charging stations.
Members of the Committee asked several questions related to the information provided and received responses from Mr. Westerneng and Mr. Jones.
