Title: GENERAL UPDATES B. Muscat, Executive Director, Student and Learning Services at Georgian College provided an update regarding student housing at Georgian College. Mr. Muscat reviewed student demographic statistics and compared on-campus student residence vacancy levels with rental rates at the College. He noted that the College's orientation sessions also include safety information concerning off-campus student residences. Sergeant J. Brooks of the Barrie Police Service noted that effective January 2017 that the Community Oriented Response (COR) Unit merged with the Community Engagement, Education and Enforcement Response Team (CERT) to serve Barrie residents. V. Cyr, Zoning Officer of the Planning and Building Services Department provided an update regarding zoning enforcement responsibilities. Ms. Cyr noted that Zoning Enforcement staff work in conjunction with the Barrie Fire and Emergency Services, the Property Standards Branch and/or Building Services when responding to resident complaints. She noted that there has been a reduction in the number of complaints regarding front yard parking at residential homes in Ward One.









R. Osborne, Supervisor of Enforcement Services provided an update from the Enforcement Services Branch of the Legislative and Court Services Department on matters related to:

* A change in the Branch name from By-law Services to Enforcement Services effective December 2016;
* Complaints regarding residential drainage violations;
* Overnight parking infractions during the winter months; and
