REVIEW OF SURVEY RESPONSES FROM COMPARATOR MUNICIPALITIES REGARDING COMPENSATION
The Committee discussed the survey responses from comparator municipalities to determine the comparators that would be considered as part of the review. The Committee agreed not to reduce the number of comparator municipalities at this time to provide staff the opportunity to obtain more fulsome information from a few of the municipalities.
The Committee discussed additional metrics to be obtained for comparator municipalities, including the number of constituents per Councillor, adjusted salaries taking into account the 1/3 tax free exemption, geographic area of a municipality, and household income to be considered during the review.
Members of the Committee asked several questions and sought clarification from City staff and received responses.
