PRESENTATION FROM A REPRESENTATIVE(S) OF ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENCE REGARDING THEIR “RESPONSIBLE AGGREGATES” INITIATIVE
Ms. Claire Malcolmson, Environmental Consultant of the Environmental Defense provided a presentation concerning their “Responsible Aggregates” Initiative.
Ms. Malcolmson discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• Her background and experience;
• Who is involved in the Cornerstone Standards Council (CSC);
• Information and initiatives associated with the CSC;
• Today’s situation in the perspective of the community and the industry;
• The goals the CSC are striving for;
• The principles associated with Responsible Aggregate Standards; and
• Ways the CSC and the City of Barrie can work together to promote higher standards of responsible aggregates.
Members of the Committee asked several questions to the presenter and received responses.
