PRESENTATION BY GAYLE WOOD, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, NOTTAWASAGA VALLEY CONSERVATION AUTHORITY (NVCA) REGARDING CHANGES TO THE CONSERVATION AUTHORITIES ACT.
G. Wood, Chief Administrative Officer of the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority provided the Committee with a presentation concerning the Conservation Authorities Act Review.
Ms. Wood discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• An overview of the Provincial Conservation Authorities Act Review;
• Conservation Authority history and governance;
• A map outline of Conservation Authorities in Ontario;
• Comparison charts of the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority revenues in 1968 and 2014;
• Key sections of the Conservation Authorities Act;
• The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority’s recommendations regarding the Provincial Conservation Authorities Act Review;
• Conservation Ontario’s comments associated with the Provincial Conservation Authorities Act Review; and
• The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority’s Board of Directors’ approved Resolution recommending that the Nottawasaga Valley Conversation Authority’s response to the Conservation Authorities Act Review be approved.
Members of the Committee asked questions related to the information provided and received responses from the presenter.
