Title: PRESENTATION - ORIENTATION FOR COMMITTEES J. Carswell, Deputy City Clerk provided a presentation regarding an Orientation for the 2018 - 2022 Committee Members. Mr. Carswell discussed the following topics: * The Council and Committee Member Code of Conduct; * The Municipal Conflict of Interest Act; * The City of Barrie Procedural By-law; * An overview of meeting procedures: o The basics of Parliamentary Law; and o The role of the Chair, Committee Members and the Committee Support Clerk; * The decision making process; and * The reporting structure of the Town and Gown Committee. In closing, Mr. Carswell reviewed the Terms of Reference for the Town and Gown Committee including the Committee's mandate and objectives. Also, he provided a brief overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training Booklet.
