REFERRED MOTION 24-G-050 FROM CIRCULATION LIST DATED FEBRUARY 28, 2024 CONCERNING BARRIE TRANSIT - FREE SENIORS SERVICE UPDATE
Heather Miller, Manager of Business Services, provided an overview of the Circulation List Memorandum dated February 28, 2024 concerning Barrie Transit - Free Seniors Services Update that was referred to the Seniors and Accessibility Advisory Committee by General Committee on February 28, 2024.
Ms. Miller highlighted the current program for seniors receiving two days of free transit on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as a discounted transit bus pass.
Members of Committee asked a number of questions to Ms. Miller and received responses.
The Committee agreed that they would like staff to further investigate additional free transit options for seniors due to many seniors being on a fixed income as well as any discounts or free transit options for specialized transit riders.
