The Committee met and discussed the status of the Youth Ambassadors visits as follows:
Murayama, Japan
M. Greer and J. Gulley, 2016 Youth Ambassadors Leaders provided an update regarding the City of Barrie’s youth delegation visit to Murayama, Japan during August, 2016. M. Greer and J. Gulley commented that the youth delegation had a fantastic time during their stay. M. Greer showcased the storybook the City of Barrie youth delegation organized and presented in Murayama, Japan as a gift. A copy of the storybook was provided to the Committee for historical purposes.
Zweibrucken, Germany
J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Babcock commented that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie through the Global Perspectives Program visited Zweibrücken, Germany from May 28, 2016 to June 28, 2016 and had a great time during their stay.
J. Babcock advised that a delegation from Zweibrücken, Germany will be visiting the City of Barrie from September 22, 2016 to October 22, 2016.

R. Warman and V. Kompp provided update regarding German Twinning and the German Canadian Club.
R. Warman commented that the “Die Hofgassler” Orchestra Band from Zweibrucken, Germany will be visiting the City of Barrie from October 11, 2016 to October 21, 2016 and during their stay they will be playing at two concerts, as follows:
· October 15, 2016 - Knights of Columbus Barrie 1626 3rd Annual Oktoberfest Dinner and Dance located at the Holy Spirit Parish Hall
· October 16, 2016 - German Twinning Committee and the German Canadian Club of Barrie will be hosting a concert at the Army, Navy, Air Force Club. | Received | |
