R. Westerneng and S. Jones from sPark Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions provided the Committee with a presentation concerning Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.
Mr. Westerneng discussed slides concerning the following topics:
· His background and experiences;
· The history of electric cars and charging stations;
· Illustrations of vintage cars and charging stations;
· A chart detailing the comparison of global annual sales of light-duty plug-in electric vehicles from 2011 - 2015;
· A chart detailing the vehicles sold per year and the projected percentage of new car sales from 2015 - 2040;
· Illustrations of cultural transitioning and perception associated with charging stations;
· A map and illustration associated with municipal considerations of charging stations; and
· The emerging challenges related to charging stations.
In closing Mr. Westerneng and Mr. Jones provided illustrations introducing the future of electric vehicle charging stations.

P. Bursztyn advised the Committee that he attended the Metrolinx Transit Project Assessment Process - Public Meeting held on November 21, 2016 at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie.
Mr. Bursztyn provided an information sheet that outlined the topics discussed at the meeting; as follows:
· Metrolinx bringing additional transit and connections to more places within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA);
· Proposed double-tracks and electrified;
· The electrification on a train;
· The transit plan to be completed by 2025;
· A summary of the major projects to be completed; and
· The suggestions Mr. Bursztyn made at the Metrolinx meeting. | | |

A. McNair provided the Committee with an update from the public open house held on December 7, 2016 concerning the development of a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. He advised that the public open house provided an update on the draft Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, the vision, goals and principles of the strategy and the next steps in the process.
The Committee discussed obtainable ideas for the City to be able to plan ahead for future climate changes. | | |
