Sergeant J. Brooks of the Barrie Police Service noted that there were no recent community or safety issues to report in Ward One.
R. Calvano, Director of Campus Safety and Security at Georgian College provided an overview of the security initiatives at the College. Mr. Calvano advised that last year the College introduced a free mobile app called Safe@Georgian. He noted that this app includes Georgian College security contact information and news feeds such as weather and emergency lockdown information as part of the College’s mass communication notification system.
Mr. Calvano advised that the College has adopted a new emergency lockdown procedure in the event of a possible violent or life-threatening incident. He noted that additional information is available from the Georgian College website under the Campus and Security section.
