17-A-052 2  DeputationDEPUTATION REGARDING MOTION 17-G-082, PARKING PROHIBITION ON DUNSMORE LANE (WARD 1) Mr. Dave Reid provided a deputation in opposition to motion 17-G-046 concerning a parking prohibition on Dunsmore Lane. Mr. Reid discussed his concerns associated with the options provided in the mailout from the City of Barrie concerning this matter. He indicated that residents residing in rental units were not notified, so were unaware of the review of parking in the area. Mr. Reid indicated that he had a petition signed by area residents requesting that the parking on Dunsmore Lane remain the same. He noted that residents from Ambler Bay signed the petition as well, as they were upset about the parking on their street. Mr. Reid suggested a parking prohibition between 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. due to the timing of increased parking from those attending the hospital. He advised that he had contacted a number of municipalities to discuss options for parking and that he had reviewed a permit option that has been implemented in the Town of Aurora. 17-A-054 2  Presentation - AC/RCPRESENTATION REGARDING ZACH MAKES TRACKS. Dr. Stew Garner of Royal Victoria Hospital commented that he was approached last year by Zach who expressed in interested in raising awareness and funds towards children’s mental health programs. He stated that Zach has an unbelievable attitude towards removing the stigma associated with mental health. Zach Hofer thanked Councillor Shipley for inviting him to present to City Council. Zach advised that he was running from Barrie to Ottawa to raise funds towards children’s mental health programs from August 13, 2017 to September 10, 2017. He indicated that he has raised approximately $7700 to date, and his personal fundraising goal is $10,000. Zach played a video that provided details about his upcoming run, why the journey is important to him and the people who he considers heroes in his life. Members of City Council expressed best wishes to Zach on his journey. Ms. James-Reid and Ms. Kovacs discussed slides concerning the following topics: · The centralized services that went live on November 28, 2016 as part of Phase One; · A video highlighting services currently provided by Service Barrie; · The first quarter statistics related to the number and types of customer interactions; · The types of requests and inquiries received from residents; · The benefits and efficiencies that Service Barrie provides, · The learning curve associated with the initiation of Service Barrie; · The timelines associated with implementing the remainder of Phase Two; and · The services currently provided by Service Barrie.
