The Committee discussed the 2017 Communities in Bloom Program and M. Boyd, Parks Horticulture Foreperson noted that the registration for the program has been submitted. They also discussed the Kick-off, and Flag Rising events for the 2017 Communities in Bloom Program. Ms. Boyd advised that this year’s event will be held concurrently with the Canada’s 150th celebrations Labour Day Weekend. The Committee discussed potential projects to be completed in time for the 2017 Communities in Bloom program. They identified two projects that they would like to investigate; one being a partnership with a local Elementary School to involve students in the Little Bloomers Program and the second, the possibility of the City of Barrie hosting the Ontario Communities in Bloom Symposium in September. The Committee agreed to investigate the projects further and report back to the Committee at a future meeting. | Received | |
