TMP-20482 1  Item of DiscussionPRESENTATION FROM A REPRESENTATIVE(S) OF ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENCE REGARDING THEIR “RESPONSIBLE AGGREGATES” INITIATIVE Ms. Claire Malcolmson, Environmental Consultant of the Environmental Defense provided a presentation concerning their “Responsible Aggregates” Initiative. Ms. Malcolmson discussed slides concerning the following topics: · Her background and experience; · Who is involved in the Cornerstone Standards Council (CSC); · Information and initiatives associated with the CSC; · Today’s situation in the perspective of the community and the industry; · The goals the CSC are striving for; · The principles associated with Responsible Aggregate Standards; and · Ways the CSC and the City of Barrie can work together to promote higher standards of responsible aggregates. TMP-20316 1  Item of DiscussionPROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENTS AND DRAFT PLAN OF SUBDIVISIONS - SUBMITTED BY WATERSAND CONSTRUCTION LTD. - ANNEXED LANDS Mr. Alan McNair provided background information concerning two applications that are proposing Zoning By-law Amendments and Draft Plan of Subdivisions for the Annexed Lands. Mr. McNair noted that these are potentially the first applications to move forward in the Annexed Lands. Ms. Stacey Forfar, Manager of Growth Planning discussed the background and status of the applications. She noted that the applications are in the early stages of the process. Ms. Forfar advised that the recommendations will be going to General Committee in the near future. Ms. Forfar discussed the steps associated with processing applications submitted for Zoning By-law Amendments and Draft Plans of Subdivisions. TMP-20483 1  Item of DiscussionPROPOSED BRIDGES FOR ACCESS TO SUNNIDALE PARK DOG OFF LEASH RECREATION AREA (DOLRA) The Committee discussed the proposed bridges for access to the Sunnidale Park Dog Off Leash Recreation Area (DOLRA). They noted their concerns with the budget of the project being too high, staffs’ reasons for installing the bridges into the Sunnidale Park DOLRA and the solution that staff is proposing for the project.
