Zwéibrücken, Germany
J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. J. Babcock advised that application submission deadline for the 2018 Global Perspectives program is February 24. 2017.
Mr. Babcock advised that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie will be travelling to Zwéibrücken, Germany from June 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017.
Murayama, Japan
D. Morrison provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Mr. Morrison anticipates that a youth delegation of twelve from Murayama, Japan will be visiting the City of Barrie during Summer, 2017 | Received | |

J.M. Pigeon and R. Warman provided an update regarding the German Twinning. J.M. Pigeon advised that a delegation from Zwéibrücken, Germany will be visiting the City of Barrie from May 3, 2017 to May 10, 2017 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Twinning certificate.
The Committee approved the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee account 01-06-0935-0000-3095 in an amount not to exceed $1500.00 for costs associated with airfare travel for Jean Maurice Pigeon to accompany Mayor Lehman during his visit to Zwéibrücken, Germany in April. 2017.

B. Sergeant provided an update regarding the Borough of Harrogate United Kingdom. Mr. Sergeant commented that an adult delegation which includes the King Edward Choir will be traveling to the Borough of Harrogate from June 29, 2017 to July 10, 2017. He advised that the Choir would be performing during their visits. Mr. Sergeant highlighted that a ceremony at the Stonefall Cemetary in Harrogate has been scheduled for July 2, 2017 in honour of the over 600 members of the Royal Canadian Airforce who are buried there, including Flying Officer William Howard Porritt, from Barrie. | Received | |

Mr. Sergeant highlighted that four reproductions of the Sir Robert Barrie painting have now been completed and they will be used as gifts during the Twinning exchanges with the Borough of Harrogate, Zwéibrücken, Germany as well as one will be presented to Barrie North Collegiate in September, 2017.
