M. Sachkiw provided an update regarding Japan Twinning. M. Sachkiw advised that the dates of travel for an adult delegation from the City of Barrie to travel to Murayama, Japan have been confirmed for October 29, 2017 to November 7, 2017. D. Morrison, Chair commented that Councillor B. Ward will be traveling to Murayama, Japan as part of the delegation to be the official representative of the City of Barrie. The Committee met and discussed status of the Youth Ambassadors visits as follows:
Zweibrucken, Germany
J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Babcock advised that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie will be travelling to Zweibrucken, Germany from June 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017.
Mr. Babcock invited the Committee to attend the Global Presents Event at Innisdale Secondary School on Tuesday May 30, 2017 starting at 5:30 p.m.
Murayama, Japan
C. Hewitt provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Ms. Hewitt commented that preparations are taking place for a delegation of twelve students plus two leaders from Murayama, Japan to visit the City of Barrie from July 28, 2017 to August 9, 2017. M. Greer commented that they are still searching for four homestays families for the delegation. | Received | |

R. Warman provided an update regarding German Twinning. Mr. Warman commented that a delegation comprised of ten official delegates and thirteen citizens visited the City of Barrie from May 3, 2017 to May 10, 2017 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Twinning Certificate. Mr. Warman advised that delegation from Zweibrucken, Germany attended a General Committee meeting on May 8, 2017.
