The Committee met and discussed the status of the Youth Ambassadors visits as follows:
Zweibrücken, Germany
D. Morrison, Chair provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Morrison advised that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie is currently visiting Zweibrücken, Germany until June 30, 2017. Mr. Morrison commented that a youth delegation from Zweibrücken, Germany will be visiting the City of Barrie in the Fall, 2017.
The Committee approved expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee account 01-06-0935-0000-3095 for an amount not to exceed $5,000.00 to assist with cost associated with hosting the youth delegation from Zweibrücken, Germany, Fall, 2017.
Murayama, Japan
C. Hewitt provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Ms. Hewitt advised that preparations are underway for a delegation of twelve students and two leaders from Murayama, Japan to visit the City of Barrie from July 28, 2017 to August 9, 2017.
