The Committee met and discussed National Access Awareness Week. C. Dillon, Accessibility Co-ordinator highlighted that plans are underway for each municipality in Simcoe County to coordinate events on same day and/or week in recognition of National Access Awareness Week. C. Dillon highlighted that the Rick Hansen Foundation is interested in partnering for an event for National Access Awareness Week.
C. Dillon advised that National Access Awareness Week will be proclaimed by the Mayor at a meeting of City Council closer to the date and that a flag raising ceremony will also be scheduled. The Committee discussed events to further promote National Access Awareness Week. | | |
