She discussed the concept of adding another award category for Barrie Artists with Disabilities. The Committee provided their comments and suggestions to A. Dyke. The Committee supported the inclusion of an accessibility based award category as part of the Barrie Arts Awards. A. Sanderson, Community member provided a presentation regarding accessibility and sidewalk snow removal issues. Ms. Sanderson outlined her disabilities and discussed her concerns related to sidewalk snow removal. Councillor, S. Morales reviewed the timeline for snow removal of streets and sidewalks. TMP-20096 2  Item of DiscussionNATIONAL ACCESS AWARENESS WEEK The Committee met and discussed National Access Awareness Week. C. Dillon, Accessibility Co-ordinator highlighted that plans are underway for each municipality in Simcoe County to coordinate events on same day and/or week in recognition of National Access Awareness Week. C. Dillon highlighted that the Rick Hansen Foundation is interested in partnering for an event for National Access Awareness Week. C. Dillon advised that National Access Awareness Week will be proclaimed by the Mayor at a meeting of City Council closer to the date and that a flag raising ceremony will also be scheduled.
