G. Diamantopolous, Facility Capital Supervisor provided an update regarding the future plans for Memorial Square and Meridian Place.
He discussed slides concerning the following topics:
· An aerial view of the Memorial Square/Meridian Place Redevelopment;
· A rendering of the Cenotaph at Memorial Square/Meridian Place;
· An outline of the plan to maximize the flexibility of use for Memorial Square/Meridian Place Site;
· An aerial view of Memorial Square and Dunlop Streetscape;
· An outline of the material and planting palettes for the Memorial Square and Dunlop Streetscape;
· An overview of the lighting for Memorial Square and Dunlop Streetscape;
· An aerial view of the plan and lighting for the Nine Mile Portage Terrace;
· A rendering of the Nine Mile Portage Interpretation; and
· An aerial view of the plan and lighting for Meridian Place.

W. Fischer, Supervisor of Parks Planning and Developments provided an update regarding the Lennox Community Park Accessibility Improvements.
He discussed slides concerning the following topics:
· Visual designs (View 1 and View 2) of the Lennox Community Park Playground;
· A diagram of the Lennox Community Park (Site and Swing Plan); and
· A diagram of Lennox Community Park (Playstructure Plan).
In closing, Mr. Fischer commented that each park has their own theme that does provide a different play opportunity and experience for children. Mr. Fischer anticipates that construction of Lennox Community Park Playground will commence in June, 2017.

Ms. Dillon advised that in celebration of National AccessAbility Week that an open house has been scheduled for May 31, 2017 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the City Hall, Rotunda. Ms. Dillon commented that the open house will feature numerous displays by community organizations including the Barrie Public Library, an accessible Conventional Barrie Transit Bus and members of the community will be able to learn more about various disabilities through hands-on experiences. | Received | |
