A. Dyke, Cultural Officer - Development provided an update regarding the criteria for the Barrie Arts Awards Category entitled “Artists without Barriers”. Ms. Dyke provided the Committee with a copy of the draft of the 2017 Barrie Arts Award Nomination Information and Nomination Form for their reference. The Committee provided their suggestions to Ms. Dyke regarding the criteria for the Artist without Barriers award category. C. Dillon, Accessibility Co-ordinator commented that she will ensure the award criteria aligns with AODA standards and will forward information to A. Dyke. C. The Committee members discussed awards for Accessible Business in Barrie. D. Taylor, Chair suggested having the awards available for presentation to the recipients in October, 2017. C. Dillon, Accessibility Co-ordinator provided suggestions on the type of awards. The Committee agreed with awarding five recipients in 2017. C. Dillon, Accessibility Co-ordinator will work with staff in Access Barrie regarding the Awards for Accessible Businesses in Barrie. The Committee met and discussed the 2017 National Access Awareness Week open house held on May 31, 2017 in the City Hall, Rotunda. D.
