Mayor Lehman recognized Elaine Abram for receiving the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers. He explained that the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers is an award from the General Governor of Canada that recognizes the exceptional volunteer achievements of Canadians in a wide range of fields. Mayor Lehman shared that Ms. Abram received the award for her volunteer involvement with Scouts at 1st Mapleview and the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps # 53 Barrie. Mayor Lehman congratulated Ms. Abram on receiving the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers and thanked her for her volunteer service in the community.   Action details Not available
18-A-068 1  DeputationDEPUTATION REGARDING MOTION 18-G-170 FEASIBILITY OF POLICY CHANGE RELATED TO SEWER CONNECTION Mr. Chuck Harris provided a deputation concerning motion 18-G-170 regarding the Feasibility of Policy Change Related to Sewer Connections. Mr. Harris expressed his concerns with the state of the infrastructure on Frederick Street, where he resides. He stated that work crews are frequently making repairs to the sewer pipes on his street. He advised that he believes that the proposed neighbourhood renewal project for Frederick Street should take place as soon as possible. Mr. Harris indicated that he felt that policies that would provide a rebate for improvements to the sewer laterals would contribute to delays in completing the neighbourhood renewal project.
