TMP-25361 2  Discussion ItemJAPAN TWINNING UPDATE M. Sachkiw, Vice Chair provided an update regarding Japan Twinning. Mr. Sachkiw advised that Dave Morrison will be recognized with the 2019 Autumn Imperial Decorations, The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays award from the Government of Japan at the City Council meeting to be held on January 13, 2020. Mr. Sachkiw advised that the Consular General of Japan in Toronto, Takako Ito will be in attendance to present the award. He noted that a reception to honour Mr. Morrison will follow the Award Presentation. The Committee approved the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee cost centre #1026 660200 not to exceed $1500.00 for costs associated with hosting a reception for Mr. Morrison to be held on January 13, 2020. Morrison, Chair advised that the application process for the 2020/2021 Global Perspectives Program for Innisdale Secondary School will commence in January, 2020. Murayama, Japan D. Morrison, Chair advised that preparations are taking place for a youth delegation to travel to Murayama, Japan from August 16 to August 30, 2020 and that the application process for the 2020 Japan Youth Leaders will commence in January, 2020. Mr. Morrison noted that the application process for youth ambassador program participants will commence in April, 2020.
