TMP-26196 2  Discussion ItemCOMMITTEE BUDGET UPDATE D. Morrison, Chair provided an update concerning the Committee’s 2020 Budget. The Committee approved the expenditure of funds from the International Relations Committee cost centre #1026 660200 not to exceed $3000.00 for costs associated with the purchasing of gifts for future exchange purposes. They noted that this expenditure is in addition to the $2,000.00 previously approved by the Committee on March 3, 2020. The Committee discussed the anticipated expenditures related to the 2021 International Relations Committee Budget. The Committee acknowledged the difficulties the world is facing with the COVID-19 pandemic and that limited international activities are anticipated with the City’s twinning/partnerships in 2021. The Committee discussed the possibility of expenditures related to the City’s twinning/partnerships in 2021 would be approximately $20,000 as there is the potential for both arms of the youth ambassador’s program to get underway in 2021. TMP-26198 2  Discussion ItemYOUTH AMBASSADORS UPDATE The Committee discussed the status of the Youth Ambassadors visits as follows: Zweibrucken, Germany J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. He advised that the COVID-19 pandemic has altered the Global Perspectives Program at Innisdale Secondary School resulting in the cancellation of the youth delegation visiting Zweibrücken, Germany in September, 2020. Mr. Babcock noted the potential of the youth delegation visiting Zweibrücken, Germany in September, 2021 depending on the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Babcock advised that Innisdale Secondary School is looking at alternative arrangements for students enrolled in the Global Perspectives Program and are awaiting approval from the Simcoe District School Board. Murayama, Japan S. Scully-Pratt provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. She advised that there are plans to send a youth delegation to Murayama, Japan in 2021 depending on the COVID-19 pandemic.
