He noted that the award recognizes an individual, business or organization that fosters an environment of equal participation by recognizing outstanding accomplishments which result in equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in Barrie. Mr. Bubel presented a video of MP Brown describing Mr. Stein’s achievements and contributions to increasing awareness of accessibility matters in the community. He described him as someone who represents the best elements of society. Mr. Bubel read aloud a letter to Mr. Stein from Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada recognizing his positive impact related to social change. John Tom of MEDIchair, sponsors of the Robert Kerr Accessibility Award described a number of key events throughout Mr. Stein’s life and listed the accessibility related Committees that Mr. Stein has been involved with over the years.
