Ms. Lynne Slotek, Associate Director for Knowledge Mobilisation, Canadian Index of Wellbeing (CIW) provided a presentation regarding the Canadian Index of Wellbeing entitled “Measuring What Matters”.  Ms. Slotek provided background information regarding the development of the Canadian Index of Wellbeing (CIW) and outlined the vision and mission associated with the index.  She indicated that the Canadian Index of Wellbeing is rooted in Canadian Values.  Ms. Slotek described the objectives of the CIW and reviewed why it was developed.  She provided the definition of wellbeing adopted by the CIW and introduced the leadership and the international partners associated with the Canadian Index of Wellbeing.  

Ms. Slotek reviewed the criteria utilized for the selection of the indicators for the index.  She provided the framework for the CIW and explained the purpose of the CIW composite index.
