Title: GENERAL UPDATES R. Osborne, Supervisor of By-law Services advised that he will be meeting with representatives from the City of Oshawa's Building Department regarding their Boarding, Lodging, Rooming (BLR) House licencing process. Mr. Osborne noted that he recently attended a seminar regarding taxi licencing and residential hoarding issues. He commented that the By-law Services Branch is currently conducting a comprehensive review of business licencing for taxis operating within the City of Barrie.

Mr. Osborne provided an update from the By-law Services Branch of the Building and By-law Services Department on matters related to:

* The processing of licences for Boarding, Lodging, Rooming (BLR) Houses;
* The processing of two-unit housing registration requests; and
* The recruitment of summer students.

T. Hanrahan, Supervisor of Traffic and Parking Services provided an update from the Roads, Parks and Fleet Department on matters related to:

* The Temporary Traffic Calming measures implemented in Ward One including:
o The speed cushions program;
o The traffic counting program;
o The use of street furniture such as benches and poles to visually narrow streets;
* The Permanent Traffic Calming measures scheduled for Ward One;
* A memorandum to City Council regarding parking restrictions on Brighton Road;
* The historical signage for Kempenfelt Village; and
* Road line painting projects.

Mr. Hanrahan noted that he will compile data concerning speed complaints in Ward One and forward the results to Councillor Ainsworth.

B. Muscat, Acting Dean of Students at Georgian College noted that the College has received complaints from Ward One residents concerning noise at one of the College parking lots on weekend mornings. He advised that the College has scheduled additional security patrols to monitor parking lots on weekend mornings.
