Title: 2025 COMMUNITIES IN BLOOM PROGRAM City's Participation Mona Boyd provided an overview of the 2025 Communities in Bloom program (CIB) including the program categories such as the International Challenge, Circle of Excellence - evaluated and non evaluated. Ms. Boyd advised that a new category entitled "Healthier Liveable City" has been added to the 2025 CIB Program. She advised that the criteria for the new category has not been released yet. Chair, Councillor AM. Kungl provided suggestions on a number of the municipality's projects to be highlighted in the 2025 CIB program such as the City's new greenhouse. City’s Participation

 

Mona Boyd provided an overview of the 2025 Communities in Bloom program (CIB) including the program categories such as the International Challenge, Circle of Excellence - evaluated and non evaluated.  Ms. Boyd advised that a new category entitled “Healthier Liveable City” has been added to the 2025 CIB Program.  She advised that the criteria for the new category has not been released yet. 

 

 

 

 

Chair, Councillor AM. Kungl provided suggestions on a number of the municipality’s projects  to be highlighted in the 2025 CIB program such as the City’s new greenhouse.

 

The Committee provided feedback to Ms. Boyd and Councillor AM. Kungl regarding the CIB program categories. Further discussion will take place at the next meeting.

 

Ms. Boyd advised that the registration deadline for the 2025 Communities in Bloom Program is end of February 2025. 

 

The Committee approved an expenditure up to $5,000.00 from the Communities in Bloom Committee budget to cover the municipality’s registration fee to compete in the 2025 Communities in Bloom program in the categories best suited for the City.

Mona Boyd, Horticulture Foreperson advised that 2025 Communities in Bloom Program theme is “Edible Gardens” which will provide an opportunity to shine a light on food insecurity.
