PRESENTATION CONCERNING THE 2021 INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT REPORT
Craig Millar, Director of Finance introduced Chairman, Geoff Waters of the Investment Board.
Geoff Waters, Chair of the City of Barrie’s Investment Board provided a presentation regarding the 2021 Investment Management Report.
Mr. Waters discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• A year in review;
• The North American equity market, 2021 performance;
• The Canadian fixed income indices 2021 total return - Bond underperformed equities;
• The rising commodity prices;
• The investment performance for the total fund;
• The overall asset allocation;
• The operating fund from the ubiquity fund;
• The capital fund based on fixed income securities;
• The growth fund solely based on equity investments;
• The topics discussed at an Investment Board meeting;
• The environmental, social, and governance factors and the integration; and
• The CFA Institute and the Principles for Responsible Investment.
Members of the Committee asked questions of staff and Mr. Waters and received responses.
