Title
WATERFRONT AND MARINA STRATEGIC PLAN - NORTH SHORE PLAN DISCUSSION
Ms. Sarah Uffelmann of the North Shore Adopt-A-Trail Group provided the Committee with concerns from the group with respect to the Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan - North Shore Plan. She noted that the plan does not identify access to the shoreline from the North Shore Trail. She feels that the construction of a boardwalk is not a feasible method for accessing the shoreline safely. She suggested that two or three accessible design areas would create a safe passage to the shoreline. She believes that accessibility to the shoreline along the North Shore Trail should be a design element within the Master Plan.
Ms. Uffelmann shared comments on behalf of Mr. Bob Lehman regarding the Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan - North Shore Plan. She noted that Mr. Lehman feels that a new stormwater management plan should be developed for the North Shore Trail. She also commented that he feels that the North Shore Plan should be updated in a manner consistent with the Master Plan that rationalizes a successful waterfront with long range goals. Ms. Uffelmann noted that Mr. Lehman does not feel that lighting along the North Shore Trail is a good idea.
The Committee asked several questions of City Staff regarding the Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan - North Shore Plan and received responses.
