Title: WASTE MANAGEMENT SERVICES T. Quann-Strasser, Waste Management Co-ordinator for the City of Barrie provided the Committee with an overview of the City’s new initiatives regarding waste management services. She described the proposed Sustainable Waste Management Strategy. Ms. Quann-Strasser advised that effective May 1, 2012, there was an increase in the cost of garbage tags from $2.00 to $3.00 in an effort to encourage participation in recycling and green bin use throughout the City. She discussed various aspects of waste management services including the removal of bulk items and the process involved when a violation has occurred or a complaint has been received concerning debris left on the boulevard or on private property. Committee Members asked questions regarding the information provided and received responses from City Staff.
