Henry Renkema provided a deputation in opposition to motion 12-G-151 concerning Taxi Tariffs and Taxi Industry Consultation. He stated that he agreed with the fare reduction and discount for seniors. He requested that City Council delay the reduction in fares until the fall as he feels the reduction may impact taxi drivers financially during the summer season. Mr. Renkema commented that he believes delaying the reduction in the fares will provide time for the taxi industry to adjust to the proposed seniors discount.
Members of City Council asked a number of questions concerning the information provided and received responses from City staff.
