Title: 170 THE QUEENSWAY Prior to commencement of the Property Standards Committee meeting, Sandra Doyle, Municipal Prosecutor had a preliminary resolution discussion with appellants Onowu Anthonia Ujunwa, and Onowu Emmanuel Fiddi concerning Property Standards Order PSC25-01476 relating to the property municipally known as 170 The Queensway. Ms. Doyle, Municipal Prosecutor, identified herself to the Chair and explained she was acting on behalf of the Property Standards Officer for the City of Barrie. Onowu Anthonia Ujunwa, and Onowu Emmanuel Fiddi identified themselves as the owners of property 170 The Queensway. Ms. Doyle advised the Committee that both parties had spoken, and that the appellants informed the City that the work listed in Property Standards Order PSC25-01761 had not been completed due to financial reasons and had requested additional time to comply with the Order. 170 THE QUEENSWAY

 

Prior to commencement of the Property Standards Committee meeting, Sandra Doyle, Municipal Prosecutor had a preliminary resolution discussion with appellants Onowu Anthonia Ujunwa, and Onowu Emmanuel Fiddi concerning Property Standards Order PSC25-01476 relating to the property municipally known as 170 The Queensway.

 

Ms. Doyle, Municipal Prosecutor, identified herself to the Chair and explained she was acting on behalf of the Property Standards Officer for the City of Barrie.

 

Onowu Anthonia Ujunwa, and Onowu Emmanuel Fiddi identified themselves as the owners of property 170 The Queensway.

 

Ms. Doyle advised the Committee that both parties had spoken, and that the appellants informed the City that the work listed in Property Standards Order PSC25-01761 had not been completed due to financial reasons and had requested additional time to comply with the Order.

 

Ms. Doyle indicated that the appellants seek an extension to May 31, 2026, to explore financial options and that the City does not oppose this request.

 

The Committee asked the appellants questions related to the request for additional time hardships and received responses.

 

Stephen Kinsella, Chair of the Property Standards Committee, asked the Committee if they agreed to uphold the Order with additional time for all deficiencies to be complied with by May 31, 2026. The Committee members advised that they agreed with the extension of time.

 

Mr. Kinsella stated that the decision of the Property Standard Committee is as follows:

 

“That the appeal of By-law 2011-138 by the Appellants, Obiakor Ikechukwu Anthony, Onowu Anthonia Ujunwa, and Onowu Emmanuel Fiddi regarding City of Barrie Property Standards Order PSC25-01476, is to uphold the order in whole with additional time granted for all deficiencies to be complied with by May 31, 2026.”
