Title: CANADA STANDARDS ASSOCIATION (CSA) PARAMETERS FOR ACCESSIBLE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT C. Maher, Landscape Architectural Planner and W. Fischer, Supervisor Parks Planning provided a presentation regarding the Canada Standards Association (CSA) parameters for making outdoor play spaces accessible. Mr. Maher commented that in 2000 Centennial Beach was deemed as the first accessible playground in the City of Barrie and it is anticipated that the Lampman Lane Park will be the next accessible park. Mr. Maher noted that since there are over eighty parks in the City of Barrie the intent is to focus on Community parks by having accessible outdoor play spaces available. W. Fischer commented that due to costs related to replacing playground equipment, Community parks contained the appropriate amenities, drainage and walkways to be cost effective.
