Jack Hunt of Maple Grove Public School thanked members of City Council for welcoming him and providing him with the opportunity to be Student Mayor. He noted that he believes the City of Barrie is in good hands and was interested in seeing how smoothly the City Council meetings are conducted. Jack observed that Council members and citizens of Barrie are provided an opportunity to share their feelings regarding certain matters by utilizing the Open Delegation portion of the City Council Meeting. Jack concluded by stating that he feels that he has been provided with good insight into municipal government.
Coralea Kappel of École Secondaire Catholique Nouvelle-Alliance thanked members of City Council for the unique opportunity to serve as Student Mayor. She noted that she enjoyed being a part of the Council meetings and now has a better understanding of the diversity of issues that Council addresses.
