Mr. Dave White provided a deputation in opposition to motion 16-G-058 Memorial Square/Meridian Place Redevelopment Closure of Fred Grant Street Additional Construction Funding.  Mr. White advised that he was representing Annet Towers Ltd., the owner of the former Bank of Montreal Building located at 6 Fred Grant Street.  Mr. White discussed his concerns regarding the closure of Fred Grant Street to vehicular traffic and how it will detrimentally impact the value of his client’s property.  He also commented that the closure will result in Chase McEachern Way being a dead end street again impacting his client’s property.  He commented that the property is in a prominent location that overlooks Memorial Square and Kempenfelt Bay, and he requested that that City staff work with his client to discuss alternatives to the closure of Fred Grant Street, that would still permit the City to proceed with its plans and for the possible redevelopment of his client’s property.

Members of City Council asked questions of Mr. White and City staff and received responses.
