Title: ALZHEIMER'S AWARENESS MONTH Councillor AM Kungl provided an update to the committee regarding Alzheimer's Awareness Month. Councillor Kungl discussed the Alzheimer's Society of Barrie and the Barrie and Orillia organizations amalgamation to create the Alzheimer's Society of Simcoe County. Councillor Kungl provided some background on the organization including: * That they report to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada; * Currently there are 26 organizations located across Ontario; and * Creating dementia friendly communities. Councillor Kungl advised that the Alzheimer's Society services are for free of charge. Councillor Kungl outlined that 82% of the people that the organization supports are respite or caregivers and the biggest project the organization is working on is social recreation and navigation growth.
