The Committee discussed scheduling the Heritage Barrie Awards reception and presentation for the City Council meeting scheduled for March 4, 2025. HERITAGE BARRIE AWARDS

 

The Committee reviewed the nominations for the Heritage Barrie Awards and selected recipients in the following categories:

 

                     Residential

                     Adaptive Reuse and/or Commercial

                     Community Individual - Roxanne Shanks

                     Community Group - Barrie Curling Club

 

Craig Froese abstained from voting on the recipient for Adaptive Reuse and/or Commercial, Deb Exel abstained from voting on the recipient for residential property, and Samantha Loney abstained from voting on the recipient for Community Individual.

 

The Committee discussed scheduling the Heritage Barrie Awards reception and presentation for the City Council meeting scheduled for March 4, 2025. 

 

The Committee discussed plans for the 2026 Heritage Barrie Awards and launching the call for nominations with no change to criteria, in early 2026.

 

The Committee discussed purchasing gifts for the Heritage Barrie Awards and picture frames for certificates.  The Committee approved an expenditure up to $700.00 from the Heritage Barrie Committee budget to purchase four cutting boards including oil, and picture frames for certificates
