RECOGNITION OF THE BARRIE PIPES AND DRUMS ON WINNING THE NORTH AMERICAN PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIP, GRADE 5.
Mr. Matt Kiegelmann of the Barrie Pipes and Drums discussed how the Band has grown over the last 5 years and announced that the Barrie Pipes and Drums were the North American Pipe Band Champions Grade 5. He provided details on the history of the Band, its success and the dedication of the members. Mr. Kiegelmann provided details of the the North American Championship that was held in Maxville, Ontario. He announced that they would be participating in a World Competition in Scotland in 2017.
Mayor Lehman presented Mr. Keigelmann with a plaque to recognize the accomplishment of the Barrie Pipes and Drums and commented how the Band represents the City of Barrie so well at a number of events.
Members of the Barrie Pipes and Drums performed a short rendition of their March melody.
