Title: COMMENTS BY OUTGOING STUDENT MAYOR Maeve Gormley announced that she was a Grade 8 student at St. John Vianney Catholic School and was elected to serve as Student Mayor from May 9 to May 30, 2016. She thanked City Council for providing the Student Mayor Program, as she had an enjoyable and educational experience. Maeve commented that she has a greater appreciation of the importance of public awareness and understanding of how City Council works and that their voice matters. She indicated that she will not be intimidated to communicate with members of the Council in the future as she has more awareness of Council's proceedings and decision making process. Maeve observed the challenges that arise from planning growth in a municipality and the consideration that is given to existing homes and businesses during the process. In closing, Maeve thanked members of Council for the experience and learning opportunity.
