Title: S. Patterson, Manager of Infrastructure and Development provided a presentation regarding the proposed Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan. Mr. Patterson outlined the components related to the Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan which include the categorization of parks into three activity centres, trail improvements, active transportation, better connecting corridors to the waterfront and place making elements such as location identifiers, signage and wayfinding panels. Mr. Patterson highlighted the major elements and the current and future capital projects associated with the Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan. Mr. Patterson explained the possible economic opportunities that could generated through small-scale commercial operations such as kiosks and mobile vendors.  He noted that as the project progresses, Requests for Expressions of Interests, Requests for Proposals and reports to Reference Committees and General Committee will be on-going.  
 
Mr. Patterson outlined the implementation priorities associated with the proposed Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan.  He commented that as the strategy is implemented consideration will be given to program fees, rental and leasing arrangements to offset operating costs.  Mr. Patterson noted that it is anticipated the Staff Report regarding the Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan will be presented to General Committee on June 10, 2013.
 
Members of City Council asked a number of questions related to the information provided and received responses from City staff.
