Title: BARRIE TRANSIT AND SIMCOE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD HIGH SCHOOL PILOT PROGRAM Moved by: Councillor, C. Riepma Seconded by: Councillor, C. Nixon 1. That staff in the Transit and Parking Strategy Department launch a pilot program in partnership with the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB), where students in a predetermined area (as identified in the Circulation List memo of June 19, 2024) will receive free Barrie Transit passes for the 2024-25 school year. 2. That the Director of Transit and Parking Strategy or their designate be given delegated authority to adjust the program throughout the school year to ensure the pilot program remains flexible as both the City and SCDSB work through the pilot program. 3. That staff in the Transit Parking Strategy Department report back to Council with an update after the first semester and after the second semester, to share feedback and to determine potential next steps.
