RECOGNITION OF THE MINOR ATOM AE, BANTAM AE AND THE MINOR BANTAM AA HOCKEY TEAMS FOR WINNING THE 2015 ONTARIO MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Mayor Lehman called upon the Coaches of the Minor Atom AE, Bantam AE and Minor Bantam AA Hockey Teams to join him at podium to recognize the teams for winning the 2015 Ontario Minor Hockey Association Provincial Championships. He asked each of the Coaches to provide an overview of their teams.
Mr. Marc Duval, Coach of the Minor Atom AE Hockey Team thanked members of Barrie City Council for recognizing the Team and congratulated the players on a great season. He commented that the players represented the City well and were good citizens both on and off the ice.
Mr. Peter Dye, Coach of the Bantam AE Hockey Team that Barrie City Council for the invitation to attend the meeting. He noted that it was a pleasure to coach the great young men, who epitomized teamwork. Mr. Dye stated that the Team members had a great rapport and rolled through the Ontario Minor Hockey Association playoffs undefeated.
Mr. Edward Wilson, Coach of the Minor Bantam AA Hockey Team thanked Barrie City Council, the Team's sponsor (Acchione Brothers Construction), the great coaching staff, parents, and players on a fantastic season. He noted that the Team won a number of tournaments including the International Silver Stick Tournament.
On behalf of City Council, Mayor Lehman congratulated the members of the Minor Atom AE, Bantam AE and Minor Bantam AA Hockey Teams, noting the incredible number of champion hockey teams representing the City of Barrie. Mayor Lehman presented a plaque and certificates to the Team members in attendance.
