Mayor Lehman called upon Cory Mainprize, Fire Chief and Sue Dawson, Deputy Fire Chief, Manager of Communications and Business Services to assist with the recognition of the Fire and Emergency Services Staff.  Mayor Lehman recognized Barrie Fire and Emergency Service Communications Branch staff Heather Ardley-Mercer, Justin Gilbert, Amanda Balch, and Melissa Deneau as co-recipients of both the 2017 Simcoe County Public Safety Communications Joint Team Award and Team Recognition with Georgian Central Ambulance Communication Centre.

For the Team Recognition category, Fire Chief Mainprize highlighted the Communications Staff efforts for their response to a fallen rock climber in Clearview Township on October 8, 2017.

 

Mayor Lehman congratulated staff on their accomplishment and acknowledged their ability to work in difficult circumstances, especially not knowing what is coming next.

 

Mayor Lehman thanked staff on behalf of City Council for their efforts.
