RECOGNITION OF THE BARRIE SOCCER CLUB'S UNDER14 GIRLS SOCCER TEAM FOR BEING INDUCTED INTO THE BARRIE SPORTS HALL OF FAME AND FOR WINNING THE 2017 ONTARIO CUP CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Mayor Lehman recognized the Barrie Soccer Club Under14 Girls Soccer Team for being inducted into the Barrie Sports Hall of Fame and for being the first Youth Soccer Team from the Barrie Soccer Club and area to win the 2017 Ontario Cup Championships. He called upon the team coach to join him at the podium to recognize the team and to provide an overview of their season.
Mr. Will Devellis thanked Council for the recognition and provided some highlights from their winning season. He recognized how the team members have developed as great soccer players and exceptional people.
Mayor Lehman congratulated the team on their accomplishments. He also acknowledged the significant commitment required from the parents and coaching staff in support of the team.
