PRESENTATION BY THE LAKE SIMCOE REGION CONSERVATION AUTHORITY CONCERNING THE NEW NATURE CENTRE PROJECT
Cheryl Taylor, Executive Director and Lisa Spinks, Campaign Manager from the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA), Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation (LSCF) provided a presentation concerning the new Nature Centre Project.
Ms. Taylor and Ms. Spinks discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• A video from the LSCF concerning the Nature Centre Project;
• Pictures illustrating the current Nature Centre and the new Nature Centre;
• An overview on the LSRCA outdoor education program;
• The benefits of outdoor education;
• A chart illustrating the percentages of 2019 participation at the Nature Centre from school programs;
• The “Therapy in the Woods” community program;
• The condition of the current Nature Centre;
• The new Nature Centre inspired design;
• The status of the Connect Campaign; and
• The LSCF request to the City of Barrie.
Members of Council asked a number of questions to presenter and received responses.
