Title: COMMUNITY WORKPLACE AND SAFETY CHARTER The Honourable Steven W. Mahoney, P.C., Chair of Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) provided a presentation to City Council concerning the Community Workplace and Safety Charter. He explained that as a part of the WSIB’s “Road to Zero” initiative, the WSIB has adopted a strategy for Ontario’s municipalities with the new Community Workplace Health and Safety Charter. He explained that this charter is based upon simple and effective principles and affirms Council’s commitment to promoting workplace health and safety for its staff and for all employers doing business in their community. Mr. Mahoney explained that since 2007, close to 50 municipalities have signed the Charter. Mayor Lehman joined the Honourable Steven W. Mahoney in signing the Charter stating that he was proud to sign the Charter on behalf of City Council.
